DEN Project

a Writer’s Journey

I used to think I knew what a museum was: an old building of tall rooms, squeaky floors and glass display cabinets, smeared with the nose prints of bored toddlers. I used to think of museums as shrines to pious tradition, unchanged by the modern world and untroubled by excitement.

I was wrong!

My name is Rod Duncan and I’m making a journey around the museums and heritage sites of the East Midlands, learning how old collections are being reinterpreted for new audiences. What I’m discovering is an amazing diversity of projects, people and extraordinary stories.
